I Was Lucky

My story is nothing inspirational compare to those who had gone through extreme adversity to be successful today. There are people who were bankrupt, lost their family, lost their legs or hands, living on the street, etc but risen up to success. I was not in any of these categories; I am a regular guy who was lucky.

First, I was lucky to discover that there are such things as personal development stuff out there when I was young. That is the fastest way to learn.

At the same time, I was also being lied into believing that all of this stuff works too. For instance, when I was doing sales by selling greeting cards from door-to-door last time, I read a motivational book. Problem is, the advice was stupid but I took it without a second thought. The book said that I should be persistence and ignore all of the rejections because I can do it. That's partially true but doesn't apply to everyone.

Now, that concept works but it's stupid because it's teaching me to work hard like a dog than working smart.

By end of the day, I would be very tired physically and mentally. Imagine walking under the hot Sun selling cards to passerby and being ignored and sometimes, being scolded. Then continue doing that because "I can". Now, how smart is that success strategy?

I was lucky to meet direct and indirect mentors in my life. Two people that I have learned immensely from are Anthony Robbins and Robert Kiyosaki when I was young.

I'm talking about total immersion. I've bought almost all of their books/ courses even when I wasn't having a lot of money at that time and attended their seminars when I can afford.

As you can tell by now, there's no one secret to success. There are plenty of them like what you can learn in The Success Trace.

Another of my success secret, which is known by most people but they're just plain ignorant or egoistic to admit or accept is this, to learn from others. I understand the value of learning from other people and even if I already knew the answer, I will still seek for more wisdom.

If you come to my house, you'll see books and courses about Law of Attraction because I'm doing my best to learn this success principle.

For instance, I already know what Robert Kiyosaki is going to teach again in his seminar but I'll still try to attend. He could be telling the story of his Rich Dad for the 10th times, but throughout the seminar, I will bring home at least one value that will worth more than 10 times my investment.

To me, I wasn't looking for the magic pill when I’m learning. I'm just looking for the "Aha" moment. When I go through programs, instead of thinking, "is this program worth it", my mind is only focus to get one value. Let's say I spend $15 for a book and I don't learn anything except for getting one value, it's definitely worth more than $15 because it'll be with me forever. $15 will be gone tomorrow.

I was lucky to understand about "abundance" many years ago. Abundance work in many forms. Especially when it comes to obtaining wisdom. No matter how much you share your knowledge, it won't deplete. It doesn't mean that if you share 50%, then you'll only have 50% left. As a matter of fact, it'll increase from 100% to 110% or more because when you share, you'll uncover new information. At the same time, when you're learning, don't be despair if you feel like you're not getting anything from a course, otherwise, you're living in a scarcity world of greed.

I was lucky to fail many times in my life. This also has to do with over-absorption of personal development stuff that doesn't work (smile). Because I was able to fail many times, I can afford to get back into the game again. I'm not talking of major failures like bankruptcy and stuff like that. Thank God I don't have to go through those. Remember, I'm a regular guy like you and the rest of the people in the world. A regular guy who was lucky enough to be where I am today.

There's a saying that there is no such thing as failure but a new learning curve. I like that thought but that's more like thinking positive, you know. If you keep on doing this "positive thinking" thingy, it might work for you well or you can also lose it all if your mind's not strong enough. That's your call.

I was able to realize that failure is just part of the game of success. You can't win all the time. You have to lose once in a while and get that into your brain. Each time Michael Jordan makes a shot to the basket, it’s not always an accurate shot. Or when Tiger Woods hits the ball, it doesn’t always go in the hole. They "lose" too but at the end of the day, they win.

I was also lucky to be ridiculed and mocked.

I have a dream, to become a millionaire before 30. They laugh at me, of course not in my face. When I attend personal improvement seminars, attendees who are already successful don't seem to enjoy my company because they don't see the benefit of mixing with a loser. Some even brushed me away. Well, I achieved my dream and found The Success Trace before I reach 30.

When I said I want to buy a big car, they ask me not to dream too much because I was just riding a motorcycle that time. Look who’s laughing now.

People tend to ridicule you when you're not like them because they don't have the potential to achieve what you want to achieve - some don't even dare to dream. Let them do that to you and the best part is when you can prove them wrong. Not because you're trying to feed your own ego, but be kind to inspire them of possibilities.

I was lucky.

10 Ways To Fail In Life Almost Guaranteed

So you want to be successful in life? Is that what you want? Then you better stop failing and become aware of these 10 ways to fail in life.

You see, I've been asked many times for how to achieve success and weird enough, seems like nobody's taking that advice seriously. Then I realized one thing. Most people are already failing before they even got started!

The article I wrote below is slightly controversy compare to the normal goodie-type personal development advice because this is the truth. If I want to keep everyone happy and write about the colorful rainbow, birds chirping, flowers blooming, etc then I should just opens up a nursery home and take care of children. I want to tell you the truth straight to your face because I've been there and heard the garbage lies thrown everywhere.

Avoid these and you'll automatically be on the right track (provided you want to be successful):

1. Mixing With Losers
It's a guaranteed way to fail in life with this. Whatever you like to do, losers will just tell you it won't work and after some time, you will also become a loser. High five, welcome to the losers' club. Something about losers you should know, they like to "recruit" new people and are very comfortable in their shoes. They don't welcome changes. So when you see someone with any of these two characteristics, you know what you should do.

2. Don't Know What You Want
The most common goal I hear all of the time is, "I want to be rich". I mean it's fine with that generic goal but the problem is, how rich do you want to be? Or how rich is rich? Put it this way, the methods used to make a million and $3,000 are different. No wonder some people couldn't experience breakthroughs in life because they are playing small for big goals. If you want to make a million, you better put in that level of commitment, bucko.

3. You Want Everything
It's nice to have a lot of things but if you go chasing everything, you get nothing. Let me tell you why. You only have 24 hours a day and you've got to focus on your priorities! I know, I know, you can hire others and so on but the fact is, you've got to want "something" first to lead to another "something", then to everything. Make sense?

4. Watching the "Secrets" Way Too Much
I'm not here to criticize Law Of Attractions (LOA) and don't want to receive hate emails. As a matter of fact, I do believe in it and have friends who appeared in the Secrets. But it's a surefire way to fail if you keep on watching the "Secrets" and doing "attraction" by sitting down on your floor manifesting 3 hours a day. In my point of view, scientifically, Law of Attraction runs on the concept of believing. When you believe you can achieve your goal, you will take actions to actually achieve it but if you don't understand this basic element and think LOA is some sort of miracle remedy, oh boy, you're in for a big surprise for failure.

5. You Don't Truly Know Why You Want Success
Wanting everything is bad enough, but it gets even worse if you don't even know the reason why you're trying to achieve your goal. What's the deal? Without a solid reason, a compelling reason, where are you going to find the motivation and encouragement for you to overcome obstacles? You think it's going to be fun ride to success? Then you haven't been traveling. It's a rocky road, my friend. Most people failed to achieve their goals because they never complete the journey! They give up half way (or at the beginning) because they cannot see the worth of accomplishments.

6. You Don't Remember Your Roots
The thing I get most irritated about is people who achieved success and never felt gratitude towards those who have helped them. Is it very hard to say "thank you"? The law of reciprocity is simple. You return favors to those who helped you in the past. And maybe, they'll help you again in the future. Remember this, it takes more than just you to achieve success, so don't be a jerk!

7. You Think You're Smart
The day you stop learning is the day you stop improving yourself. If you don't want to fail in life, make sure you stop acting as though you already know everything. The fact is, all successful people in The Success Trace are people who continuously learn to be even more successful. They don't stop. Let me put it in this perspective, you don't know what you don't know, you know?

8. You Listen To The Wrong People
I watched this funny movie called, "He Is Just Not That Into You", and it just reaffirmed what I'm about to tell you. At the beginning of the movie, it shows a clip of a boy pushing a girl in the playground because he somehow doesn't like her. He thinks she smells like dog pooh. She cried and asked her mum why did the boy do that to her. And her mum replied, It's because boys do that to girls when they like you. Do yourself a favor, don't get wrong advice. It'll stick in your brain and lead you to make stupid interpretations in life.

9. You Think Short Term
You'll hear this happening often in many "successful" people's stories, make a lot of money to lose it all. This probably because they became too comfortable and the other thing is, once you achieve success, you should ride on the wave when the momentum is there. When you think short term, you're only going after the instant pleasure. You must learn to master "delay gratification" so that you can enjoy your today's labor.

10. You're Blinded With What Is Important In Life
I believe there are only two things that are important in your life. Control of time and experiencing happiness. Money, love, big cars, diamonds, etc are the things that contribute to these 2 benchmarks of successes. For instance, if you have money, you don't need to work so that you can have more time to do the things you like. It's not the money that you're trying to get but what the money can do for you. I know this topic is bigger than one sentence explanation but I guess you get the point. You're a smart fella.

So now you know the 10 ways to fail in life. Question is, are you doing any of these? I'll be BS'ng you if I said I don't. I'm human dude, flesh and blood, I do mistakes too. But I was fortunate to experience my fair share of success today because I learn powerful lessons from other successful people that featured in The Success Trace.

"It's okay to fail and you should fail as many times as you can. That is how you learn but more importantly, you should never give up. Each time you get kick dirt in your face, wash your face and fight back. Don't go crying like a sissy because Mum's not going to come cleaning your face."

Are you ready? Go get your goals!

What Happen To Your Dream

I was sipping a cup of coffee at Star Bucks yesterday in a shopping mall.

As I was sitting there, I saw a friend of mine going up the escalator and he was wearing an employment badge. I think it was, Intel.

You see, it's been years since I last saw him.

And I could remember the last time we met. I could remember him as a fully motivated person. Someone who is passionate about realizing his dream to be financially free one day. He told me that 3 years from that day, he'll buy the house and car he wants and travel overseas for vacation each year with his wife. Beautiful young couple.

A goal getter, he was. Probably still is. He was in multi-level marketing (MLM) business and each day, he'll meet someone to share his business opportunity. I mean, you like to be with him because of the positive energy that vibrates. Of course, he'll try to talk you into MLM business but that's another story. (smile)

What's weird is, why is he wearing an employment badge from Intel today?

I don't get it. How come he stopped pursuing the MLM business and went back to a job that wasn't his ideal lifestyle?

Hold on. Don't ever think that employment is bad and you got to quit your job, etc because I'm not talking about that. I think many jobs offer fulfillment for many people. If this is not true, I wouldn't be employing my team members.

I'm talking about my friend here. Employment is ideal for others but I know it's not for him but he ends up there.

It's probably because he did not achieve his goal to be self-employed or became a business owner. So the closest resolution is to get back to work, since he has a degree in electronic engineering.

Do I feel sorry for him? No. Do I feel sad for him? No. It's just choices and there's a possibility that he finds fulfillment in his job now. What I felt is, wasted. Wasted dream when it's so near and yet, so far.

In life, many people throw in the towel when life's not working towards their favor.

But isn't that just life?

I'm not in any position to justify my friend's decision. That would be so inconsiderate and playing smart when I'm not. But what happen to his dream? To his goal? To be a speaker motivating hundreds or thousands of people and touching their hearts?

Where did that all go?

Somewhere at the bottom in his heart. I'm sure it's still there if opportunity arises again. But he might not do it again anymore because so much work is required now to start the "engine".

In your pursue of success, you're going to be battered with obstacles one after another like nobody's business. I'm not freaking you out. I'm telling you straight to your face so that you're all prepared and will know how to overcome them.

Always have faith in what you do. It's like the light that shines on you when everything is dark. Just like what Patric shares in The Success Trace.

Then you must have hope. A hope that you know soon to be a reality. That's something worth for you to do what you're doing today.

I don't want to sound rude but I think my friend has a lot of motivation but lack of hope and faith in his ability.

I could imagine where he will be if he had held on his faith and hope that he'll be successful today, after 3 years. Probably even richer than I am and work less because MLM business gives such powerful leverage.

I can't teach you about faith because I'm not a spiritual guru, neither a religion expert. But one thing for sure it's always there in you. So I'm leaving it to your own capability to allow faith to hold you through your journey of success, with a few bumps here and there.

Once you quit, it's going to be hard to come up again because your heart, mind and soul will feel tired. It feels like starting from scratch again and that doesn't sound anything fun.

So don't let that kind of things to happen! You should by now following The Success Trace! If you want to achieve something, could be anything that you're pursuing now, don't ever quit. Keep this a promise to me, will you?

You can take a break, smell some roses. But never quit. Or else you'll be someone looking down when going up the escalator.

I would strongly recommend Patric Chan. He is an international speaker, author and the founder of The Success Trace.

Why Average People Remain Average

If you do what you're expected to do, don't expect an outstanding result, my friend.

Study successful people and you'll sure to discover one thing that many of them would have in common. They live by that words of "always do more than what is expected of you".

I don't care. It could be sleeping an hour less everyday to have more time to build your wealth or whatsoever.

Whether you are mowing people's lawn or someone is mowing your lawn, when you are teaching a seminar or being a participant, or when sharing your knowledge or giving advice to your people, always do or give more than what people expect. Then they will flock around you, they will line up to meet you and be happy to support you in whatever thing that you want to do next.

If you're training to be a champion, don't just train like an average player. Train more than you're expected to train.

If you're building a multi-level marketing business, increase the numbers of prospects you would like to meet everyday. If it used to be 10, now you would have at least 12. By just increasing your effort 20%, you'll end up with 60 new prospects a month. Now, that's what I called exponential.

Trying to win a girl's heart? I'm not surprise that you could be competing with three other guys for the same girl. And you can only win if you're giving more than all of them if everyone's equal. I'm not saying giving more money or buying stuff. Give love, time or whatever that counts to her.

Whenever you are interacting with people or in a relationship, treat the other party extremely well.

Whatever is expected of you in that relationship, be it with your girlfriend or business partner or client, your spouse or your friend, always do or give more than what is expected of you. It is not that you have to do or give a whole lot more; you have to do just a little bit more than the rest. That's it. The 10mm difference is what Anthony Robbins calls it for you to become outstanding, in any undertaking.

To do this, it's not difficult. But most people are just too lazy to put in the effort. I'm one of them but I'll always keep reminding myself this, winner takes all! There is no second place, my friend. I would rather strive with the extra effort to get Number 1 because the pay off is many times greater.

Do you remember who the second best basketball player is? Nope. You can remember Michael Jordan because he's the Number 1. In fact, as far as I know, there's no such place as "the second best basketball player".

Who's the second fastest runner in the world? Who knows. I just know the Number 1. That's why you should really learn from this Number 1 system, The Success Trace!

Others have called this "more than expected attitude" as "going for the extra mile". Notice that they don't say the extra 10 miles!

How come?

Because the average persons don't bother to do more than what is expected of them. I know it's sad but that's the truth.

To most people, "always do more than what is expected of you" are mere words and they don't put substance to it because people are greedy and they just want to do the bare minimum to make money, to make a profit or whatever.

And guess what, successful people are never your average persons.

To be generous and to treat others extremely well, you must come from the perspective of abundance thinking. Then only "always doing more than what is expected of you" will come easy and naturally.

So the next time you are with somebody, or in a business negotiation, or just interacting with another person, ask "how can I help you?" without even expecting any return.

As the other saying goes, you have to give, in order to get. In fact, if you want to gather riches you have to be as generous as you can, just like The Success Trace teaches you. Touch people's lives profoundly, in ways that they would never forget. Give it forward. Help another and that person will help another. Always do more than what is expected of you. Do this and the reward will come to you 10 folds or 100 folds when you are least expecting it.

Do you think you can do more than what you're doing today? Of course you can! It is all depends on you! You'll have to decide for your own future on that.

I would strongly recommend Patric Chan. He is an international speaker, author and the founder of The Success Trace.

Something About Money You Don't Know

Money. It's the universal currency that all civilized human beings are familiar with. So what is money? Or precisely, how do you see money?

Money means differently to everyone. It can represent power and authority. A measurement of success or contribution. Maybe happiness?

Perhaps, some see it as only a piece of paper and they earn it just so that they can carry on with their lives. Once it's finished spent, they'll work again to earn it.

Now that you know what money is, consider the difference between money and wealth. Money relates to your income where else wealth is define on the assets you have and how they're being used. True wealth has nothing to do with how much money you have in your bank or the car you drive. It's the sense of well-being, knowing you are "RICH", it does not need to be seen by anyone but just you.

As how many people view money in different ways, power, authority, happiness and so on, some also sees it as a relationship. Clarifying your relationship with money will determine whether money is your master or slave, who is controlling who.

So the relationship between you and your money is something stressful or a healthy one?

You see, if it's giving you negative impact, no wonder you're not striking gold. Simply because your unconscious mind will prevent you from pain and push it away. You've heard about this a million time so I'm not going to write more about it.

The only way for you to know the answer is to look in the mirror and face the truth, because all of us hated or feared money at one time or another in our life.

When I was broke, money means a lot to me but that does not means I like it. Because the lack of it, I suffered pain. I was broke. But noted that I was never poor. You can take my money away and make me broke, but I will strive to stand up and play the money game again, and win because I now know how's the game is being played. So the only way to overcome disassociation with money is to accept money into your life without fear or shame.

So if you want to be financially wealthy, don't just sit and practice Law Of Attraction! It's more than that. You should implement The Success Trace!

Here's the combination to attract money:

Right Mindset + Right Attitude + A Solid Plan + Proven Techniques + Taking Actions = $$$ Into Your Pocket

Right mindset could be how to attract money into your life. Attitude? You can start with being patient to obtain wealth. Solid plan will mean knowing what you want to achieve and how you're going to get there. Techniques are yours to choose. Taking actions need no explanatory and this is the part that most failed.

So what does money means to you and how you make it to be on your side? Your homework for today is to know The Success Trace and it'll definitely make you become a richer person.

I would strongly recommend Patric Chan. He is an international speaker, author and the founder of The Success Trace.
